FMNT is the union of 4 research laboratories located on the Minatec campus in Grenoble. FMNT is composed of about 180 permanent researchers from CNRS, CEA, UJF and INPG and about the same number of PhD and Post-doc students. FMNT research activities are strongly connected to the research and development work performed at CEA-LETI and STMicroelectronics in Crolles II. More precisely, FMNT is working on the patterning technologies involved in the miniaturization of CMOS-based devices, on the development of very innovative materials integrated in the most advanced CMOS processes (High K materials) and developing a unique expertise on the physical phenomena and quantum effects occurring in decananometer size channel transistors. Since several years, FMNT has also oriented his research activities towards the synthesis, manipulation, characterization of nanocrystals, nanowires, colloidal systems and their integration in innovative devices where new optical, physical, chemical and magnetic properties are accessible at the nanometer scale. These research topics are addressed on a new technological platform developed in partnership with CEA-INAC.
