"Towards a new paradigm for R&D"
Three modes would be simultaneously present:
Mode 1 knowledge creation,
on issues defi ned by the academic community ;
Mode 2 research,
on priorities defi ned in partnership by the
business community and the scientifi c community ;
Mode 3,
only emerging as complementary to Mode 1
and 2, integrating the needs of individuals
and societies.
Two guest introductory speeches will set up the
scene and prepare the debate as well as local
industry representatives who will witness its
application in the real world.
